Installing widget using Google tag manager
Google Tag Manager is a free tool that allows you to manage and deploy marketing tags (snippets of code or tracking pixels) on your website (or mobile app) without having to modify the code.
If you don’t have Google tag manager installed on your website, use this get started guide by Google to install the tag manager. If you don’t have access to your website codebase or don’t know how to edit your website code, you might want to get the help of a developer to install Google tag manager.
Assuming you already have the Google tag manager installed on your website, login to the tag manager dashboard to create the tag for Insent. Click here to sign in to the Google tag manager.
Once you’ve logged into the tag manager dashboard, you’ll see a dashboard layout as shown below.
Click on the “Add new tag” button to create a new tag
Create a new tag with the name “Insent tag”. Click on the tag configuration to select the tag type you want to use. From the “Choose tag type” menu, choose the “Custom HTML” tag type.
Click on the “Triggers” to create/choose a trigger. If the “DOM Ready” trigger is already in the list, select the trigger from the list. If the “DOM Ready” trigger is not in the list, click on the “Add” button to create a new trigger.
Create a new trigger named “Insent trigger” and select “DOM Ready” as trigger type.
Save the changes. The Insent widget will be now running on the webpage where the Google tag manager is installed.
